Sea kelp is rich in nutrients like Vitamin C, niacin, and alginate, so it works wonders to hydrate, soften, and soothe your skin.
Growing up in Southern California, I spent my entire childhood in the ocean. Little did I realize then, that the sea kelp I dragged along the beach would one day become a star skincare ingredient. The sea kelp that we use in so many of our products is sustainably sourced from the clean waters off the Mendocino Coast, which is three hours north of our lab.
Our dermatologist advisor, Dr Eric Alden Lewis, explained to me why sea kelp is so beneficial for the skin. Like other marine plants, it must be incredibly resilient to survive in such an extreme and variable environment. Our aging skin needs that same resilience which is why sea kelp is such an important ingredient to include in skincare. Sea kelp is rich in nutrients like Vitamin C, niacin, and alginate, so it works wonders to hydrate, soften, and soothe your skin.
