Hillary Peterson, CEO
Hillary Peterson is passionate about creating the most luxurious, most effective personal care products in the world. Scents that smell beautiful and anti-aging skincare that really works. She’s equally passionate about doing so without ever compromising your safety. As a thyroid cancer and melanoma survivor, this isn’t just professional...it’s personal.
As the former CEO of Marie Veronique Organics, Hillary transformed the company from a local success to an internationally respected natural skincare brand. Over the six years that Hillary led MVO, the company experienced a 16-fold increase in sales volume. She also launched the Pacific skincare anti-aging treatment line, which is now part of True Botanicals. The products have won coveted awards such as the ELLE magazine Genius award, and are placed at some of the top spas in the world.
As a marketer with a passion, Hillary is also a product safety activist and Huffington Post blogger, speaking out on the environment, health, wellness, and thoughtful ingredient sourcing. Hillary has learned that what goes on your skin goes into your body and she is determined to share with consumers what she learns from the scientific community about potentially toxic ingredients in our everyday products. Her ultimate goal is to encourage a shift in how people shop and therefore to inspire industry to take a more responsible approach to the creation of products.
Prior to venturing out on her own, Hillary supported the growth of several iconic Bay Area brands including Levi Strauss & Co. where she held the position of Sr. Advertising Manager for the 501 and the Women’s Jeans brands and Retail Marketing Manager for the Levi’s brand.
Hillary is a native Californian, avid gardener, and proud Mom. She lives in Mill Valley, CA with her husband, Blair, and her three children—19-year old twins Spence and Glyn, and 14-year old Kate. She’s fluent in French and Spanish and treasures international adventures, trips to the farmers market, hikes on Mt. Tam, family dinners, and working in her vegetable and flower garden.
