Terrence J. Collins, Teresa Heinz Professor of Green Chemistry, Carnegie Mellon University
A champion of green science, Terry Collins has been recognized internationally for his invention of a new class of oxidation catalysts with demonstrated potential for enormous, positive impact on the environment. Terry has been a member of the Carnegie Mellon faculty since 1987 where he also leads The Institute for Green Science, a research, education and development center focused on creating a holistic approach to green or sustainable chemistry. He earned his undergraduate and doctor’s degrees from the University of Auckland.
Eric Alden Lewis, M.D., Dermatologist and Cosmetic Surgeon
Dr. Eric Lewis has been practicing in the field of Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery in Beverly Hills, California since 1981. Dr. Lewis is an acknowledged expert on all forms of wrinkle treatment, including acid peel, dermabrasion and collagen placement, but specializes in the prevention of melanoma and other skin cancers. As CEO of Commercial Marine Biology Institute (CMBI) Cosmeceuticals, Dr. Lewis has partnered with True Nature Botanicals to develop Pacific Topical Marine Treatment. He has written and edited many chapters in prestigious medical textbooks, is a clinical instructor for U.C.L.A. Medical School and frequently donates his surgical skills to the less fortunate in San Quintin, Mexico.
Karen Ray, Director of Spas, Auberge Resorts
Karen Ray has spent over a decade at Auberge Resorts, a collection of award-winning luxury hotels and world class spas. She joined Auberge Resorts in 2004 as Director of Spa for Napa Valley’s luxury resort Calistoga Ranch. In 2008, she added Spa Solage at Solage Calistoga to her responsibilities. In July of 2014, Karen was promoted to Director of Spas for all Auberge Resorts. Karen has garnered many awards since her start with Auberge Resorts, including Travel & Leisure World’s Best Spas Award, Condé Nast Top Resort Spas; Spa Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Award, and Organic Spa’s Top Green Spas Award. Karen continues to share her lifelong passion for natural and organic skincare through her work in the spa industry.
Kurt Schnaubelt, PhD, Founder and Scientific Director, Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy
Mediating between aromatherapy and formal science, Kurt Schnaubelt works with the world’s most eminent producers of essential oils to advance their use in natural, therapeutic healing. In 1983, he founded Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy, the first American research and education institution fully dedicated to aromatherapy. Kurt is also an international lecturer and the author of numerous books on aromatherapy including the classic “Advanced Aromatherapy,” and his latest “The Healing Intelligence of Essential Oils”. Kurt received his PhD in chemistry from the Technical University of Munich.
